Preparing To Learn
Learning to drive with Right Direction automatically gives you a head start in acquiring those essential driving skills. Here are some other points you should consider before you begin learning to drive for the first time.
Young Drivers
Firstly, if you’re a young driver one of the best things you can do to get ahead in driving is to apply for a provisional driving licence three months before your reach the age of 17.
Eyesight for driving
Its well worth getting your eyesight tested before learning to drive. Reading of a car number plate from a minimum distance is essential if you want to pass your driving test. So if you normally wear contact lenses or glasses you must make sure you wear them when driving and when taking your driving test.
The current requirement for eyesight when driving is the ability to read an old style car number plate in daylight from a minimum distance of 20.5 meters. New style car number plates which were introduced in back in September 2001 you should be able to read from a distance of 20 meters.
The Highway Code
We recommend you thoroughly read The Highway Code - this is essential reading for everyone. Its rules apply to all road users: pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists, as well as motorcyclists and drivers. The sooner you read this important book the easier you will find it to understand the rules of the road, and incorporate what you learn from it into your driving.
